A Big Game Day Party is loads of fun regardless of whether you like football or if your team is playing. At the Crafty Lily Pad, our big game is not the Super Bowl; rather it is the Daytona 500. Every year, we have a huge turn out for our Daytona 500, or Happy Daytona Day party. A big game day party or a Daytona party usually takes some planning. But, what if you are throwing a party together at the last-minute? Here are 5 tips to have a successful, last-minute Big Game Day Party.
1. Big Game Day Party = Food! Make Food Decisions as Early as Possible
Try to make food decisions and purchase the food a few days before the big game day party. You do not want to be in the rush and deal with the crowds. Plus, you might not get the chips you are looking for! Use your crock pot and create a pulled pork, pulled chicken, or chili. Another easy favorite food is Rotel Dip. 2. Use Paper Products for Easy Big Game Day Party Clean Up
Using paper plates and plastic eating utensils makes clean up and set up quick and easy. If you want to get fancy, then get a paper table-cloth in team colors. Check out The Dollar Tree for inexpensive yet nice paper products.
3. Don’t Forget the Ice!!!
For some reason, we always forget ice. Get a bag a few days before or pick up a bag the morning of the party. Use a cooler for easy access and to keep drinks cold.
4. Purchase Canned Drinks
Canned drinks are definitely easier to purchase and use for a last minute party; however, if you purchase 2 liter bottles, be sure to have plenty of cups and a few Sharpie pens so people can write their names on their cups.
5. Big Game Day Party…..Super Simple!
Ask your guests to bring their favorite ______. You won’t have control; however, an extra bag of chips or a box of cookies will keep you from running to the store with everyone else at half time.
