Scrapbooking has always been a popular hobby for many people. Scrapbook stores could be found everywhere because scrapbooking became a popular art form and hobby a few years ago. Many stores have closed down; however, go to any craft store and you can find several aisles of scrapbooking supplies. Digital scrapbooking also became part of the craze. I don’t know about you, but I don’t always have the time to sit down to turn back time and scrapbook using paper or the computer. This is why I love 1 Second Every Day.
Scrapbook Highs and Lows
It took many years of convincing my husband I should scrapbook our photos. He was so worried I would cut up the photos because he was seeing how people had photos butchered and placed on paper with all sorts of embellishments. My husband finally gave the blessing when we were taking a family trip to Washington, D.C. He realized it would be important for our girls to document their trip and their own pictures would be a big part of the documentation. The girls loved working in their trip binders each evening; however, many years later we are still working on putting photos in the book. While scrapbooking is awesome and fun, it can be overwhelming along with time consuming.
Scrapbook Retreats are AWESOME!
Raise your hand if you have a library of photos and memories waiting to be taken out of boxes or off the computer. Because I work a full time job, I have to plan my free time and be intentional, much like when I plan my holiday cards. I plan 2 weekends every year for a scrapbook get away. Last month, a group of friends and I went on a scrapbook retreat at Memory Lane Inn. It was a great weekend full of food, laughs, and 70 complete scrapbook pages.
How can you scrapbook every day?
While I love time with my scrapbook retreats, I would love even more to scrapbook every day. A few weeks ago, a friend showed me a way to do so without the paper and time constraints. You will need your phone and the app, “1 Second Every Day”.
One Second Every Day is a simple app that allows you to take video or a picture for each day and stores it on a calendar. It’s fast, simple, and allows for you to keep your memories each day. The most difficult thing is remembering to take a video on days when there just isn’t much happening. Those days are just as important as a big trip. A really awesome feature of One Second Every Day is that it allows you to “mash” all your videos and photos together to make one large video. This would be super fun for end of the year gatherings or year end reviews. Here is my video mashed:
Isn’t it fun? This app has helped me document my daily life in ways I never thought before. Why don’t you give it a try? Sign up for my weekly Newsletter with more ways to be intentional with your time!
